Boldyn Networks has appointed Andrew Conway as its chief technology officer for Europe.

Conway confirmed his appointment via a LinkedIn post today (July 1).

Conway has been at the company for close to eight years, and most recently as group director, SVP of technology and strategy. He's also previously been the director of engineering at the company.

Boldyn confirmed to DCD that the role is a newly created one and will support Boldyn’s expansion in Europe with Andrew McGrath leading the region.

In his post, Conway makes reference to leveraging the company's private network offering as part of his new role.

Earlier in his career, Conway spent close to a decade at UK telco O2, where he held a number of roles, including director of network strategy, programs, and OSS.

Boldyn provides a range of connectivity solutions to transportation, venues, and enterprises.

Some of its offerings include 5G small cells, distributed antenna systems (DAS), and private networks.

One of the company's biggest projects is supporting Transport for London's (TfL) network infrastructure rollout across the London Underground. Once fully delivered, more than 2,000 kilometers of cabling, plus thousands of radios, are expected to be installed within tunnels and stations, all of which will be fitted outside of operational hours.

Boldyn, formerly BAI Comms until the company rebranded its northern hemisphere operations two years ago, has connected more than 300 public venues globally, whilst simultaneously deploying its connectivity to 75 US military bases, with rights to deploy at an additional 40.

It has connected 120,000 small cell sites and has deployed more than 50 private networks.

In February, Boldyn completed a $1.2 billion debt financing as part of plans to expand its US footprint.
