Beyond the megawatt: Validating liquid cooling at scale
– EST
Speakers: Devin Pellicone, Matt Keller
Cooling is now one of the key factors determining how far data centers can scale and how much compute they can support. With rack densities continuing to rise, operators are having to rethink how they design, build and run their facilities, while facing growing scrutiny over energy efficiency, water consumption and the impact of data centers on local communities. The challenge is working out which cooling technologies make both scientific and economic sense, where they fit and how to deploy them without adding unnecessary cost or complexity.
Cooling Week 2026 will look at this developing ecosystem, from direct-to-chip liquid cooling, two-phase and hybrid systems to facility design, retrofits and the all-important conversations around fluids flowing through these systems. Through a week-long series of broadcasts, we'll bring together some of the foremost minds at the center of this challenge to explore the practicalities of deploying, commissioning and maintaining cooling infrastructure, alongside the roadmap to 1MW racks and what this means for those who are tasked with cooling them.
