Panel: What's driving growth in the Indian data center industry?
(2.30pm - 3.30pm IST)
India offers one of the fastest growing data center markets in the world. A report by Cushman and Wakefield has indicated that digital data in India was around 40,000 petabytes in 2010 and is likely to shoot up to 2.3 million petabytes by 2020 — twice as fast as the global rate. The Indian data center market is expected to reach USD 1.5 billion by 2022 up 50% from 2018, at a CAGR of 11.4% during the forecast period according to Research and Markets.
Driven by wider internet penetration, increasing digital data traffic, the adoption of public cloud services, higher expected growth for IoT and the Government’s push for data retention in India, the demand for data centers have increased at an unprecedented rate which now outstrips the available supply. So what strategies can be developed at speed to meet these capacity requirements?
