Roland Huempfner has been working in the field power electronics for power infrastructure since 1986. After the study of electrical engineering he joined a central research department at SIEMENS in Erlangen/Germany dealing with innovative power supplies in various industry applications such as uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), electrostatic precipitator, supplies for galvanization applications and PV inverters. From 1990 he focused on development for Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS) and had been responsible for R&D first within SIEMENS UPS and later for Chloride as Vice President R&D of power protection. During this time he significantly influenced many successful product series. He was involved in many data center infrastructure projects around the world and collected comprehensive experiences in data center applications. In 2011 he joined Huawei Technologies in Germany/Nuremberg to establish the Huawei European Competence Center Energy responsible for technology development for high efficiency and high power density in the range solutions for energy applications and data centers.
