John Clinger
Director - Energy & Data Centers Solutions, ICFJohn Clinger helps coordinate data center efforts across ICF, supporting developers, investors, utilities, state and local governments, as well as federal and international government clients. His core areas of data center expertise include renewable energy adoption, large load grid integration challenges, on-site power opportunities, and helping clients promote efficient design and operational best practices in both data center buildings and IT hardware.
He has overseen the technical and marketing aspects of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR’s data center work for over a decade and helped design and then manage U.S. Department of Energy's Better Buildings Data Center program for several years. He has also supported the European Commission in the development of recent data center related environmental regulations. In addition, he works with several utilities and municipalities across the U.S. helping equip clients with the tools, frameworks, and insights needed to guide responsible data center growth and ensure long-term value.
John has an M.S. in electrical engineering and B.C.E in computer engineering from the University of Delaware.
