James Turuthi is a seasoned C-suite executive and transformative leader with over 15 years of experience spanning technology, governance, development, and strategic business advisory. He has built a distinguished career at the intersection of government engagement, regulatory affairs, and policy advocacy, working with international organizations, government institutions, and private sector entities to drive impactful change.

James currently serves as the Chairman of the Technology Service Providers of Kenya (TESPOK), a non-profit, member-based organization established in 1999 to represent the collective interests of Kenya’s technology service providers. Under his leadership, TESPOK continues to champion industry growth, innovation, and an enabling regulatory environment for the ICT sector in Kenya and the wider East African region.

He is also a Board Member of the Kenya Network Information Centre (KeNIC), the entity licensed to manage and administer Kenya’s Country Code Top-Level Domain (.ke). KeNIC operates as a public-private partnership supporting digital identity, internet infrastructure, and the promotion of local content online.

In addition, James is the Deputy CEO at Frontier Optical Networks (FON), a Kenyan-owned technology company licensed to provide backbone connectivity at the local, national, and international levels. At FON, he plays a strategic role in scaling infrastructure, improving service delivery, and expanding digital access across the country.

James is widely recognized for his strategic foresight, stakeholder engagement expertise, and unwavering commitment to advancing technology as a driver of social and economic transformation.
