Independent Researcher, Compute Heat Rate (CHR) ResearchPrior to his current role, Hans Royal lead client development for Schneider Electric's Renewable Energy and Carbon Advisory (RECA) business, advising Fortune 500 companies, including hyperscale and data center operators, on renewable energy strategy, offsite power purchase agreements, tax credit investing, and supply chain decarbonization. Over 18 years in energy markets, Hans has helped make Schneider Electric the world's leading corporate renewables advisor, ranked #1 by Guidehouse in 2025, with hundreds of PPA transactions representing more than 25,000 MW of new wind and solar capacity globally. He designed and launched Schneider's Tax Credit Advisory practice, which has facilitated over $2.5 billion in transferable tax credit transactions since 2023, and created the supply chain renewables model behind programs such as Energize, Catalyze, and Walmart's Gigaton PPA, collectively engaging 2,700+ suppliers across 50+ global brands. Hans works at the intersection of AI-driven load growth, power procurement, and market design, advising clients on how the data center buildout is reshaping electricity markets, interconnection, and clean energy strategy. He is also the author of independent research on AI demand and wholesale power price formation, including the Compute Heat Rate framework cited by PJM Interconnection.
