Brent Shinall is Vice President, Supply Chain & Procurement at Digital Realty. DLR operates over 275 data centers, in 21 countries, 44 metros and 6 continents. His global responsibilities include optimizing DLR’s supply chain in support of Design & Construction, Data Center Operations, Implementation Services, Corporate Facilities, and Energy. Brent and his team provide global leadership through strategic sourcing of critical equipment and services, energy risk management, vendor managed inventory agreements, supplier relationship management and procure-to-pay processes. Additionally, DLR is a leader in strategic energy procurement and sustainability. DLR has set aggressive goals to meet carbon footprint reduction targets and procure 100% renewable energy, bringing low-cost green power to global customers.
Brent has built and led global supply chain organizations in multiple industries: data center, oil/gas, cruise line, airline, and space/defense. He is a certified Data Center Infrastructure Specialist (DCIS), a lifetime Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), has an Industrial Engineering degree from Louisiana Tech University and a master’s degree in Management from the University of Alabama Huntsville. Brent lives in Houston, Texas with his wife Claudia and son Lance. He played NCAA college basketball at Louisiana Tech, and enjoys coaching his son’s 4th grade team at the local YMCA.
