Xbox Live is back online after being down for several hours yesterday.
The gaming service went down around 3 pm (ET) according to Downdetector, before appearing to be largely resolved just before 9 pm.
The outage meant that thousands of users were unable to access Xbox Live services during the downtime.
At its peak, more than 38,000 users reported issues with the service on Downdetector.
Xbox said it was investigating the incident on X, formerly known as Twitter, before revealing in its latest update, several hours ago, that the service is back online.
"Users should no longer be encountering issues signing in to Xbox Live and services. Thank you for your patience, game on!" it said.
The company, which is owned by Microsoft, has not given a cause for the outage.
DCD has contacted Xbox for more information about the incident.
Last year, Xbox, along with several other Microsoft services, were taken offline when a widespread outage hit Microsoft Azure, caused by networking issues.
