Vero Fiber has announced the completion of its acquisition of Telephone Electronics Corporation (TEC).

The deal will enable the fiber broadband provider to expand its footprint across Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Vero will leverage TEC's 4,500-mile (7,242km) fiber network to extend its presence across those three Southeastern states.

Combined, the company will reach approximately 444,000 households, including both currently serviceable locations and markets under construction.

Vero confirmed that TEC will continue to operate as an independent brand within Vero's FTTH portfolio, with the leadership teams and existing workforce remaining in place. The fiber provider added that it will invest additional capital into the TEC network to support continued expansion and deliver enhanced, multi-gig fiber services across the region.

Vero noted that it now covers several locations across Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama as part of the acquisition.

In Mississippi, Vero now operates in Bay Springs, Morton, Taylorsville, Magee, Forest, Pelahatchie, Laurel, Collins, Newton, and surrounding communities. In Tennessee, the company operates in Paris, Camden, Huntingdon, McKenzie, Pulaski, Milan, Halls, and throughout Western, and Middle Tennessee, while in Alabama, Vero covers Roanoke, Cherokee, Tuscumbia, Five Points, and Wadley.

Founded in 2017 in Boulder, Colorado, Vero designs, builds, owns, and manages fiber infrastructure services to retail consumers (FTTH), K-12 schools (E-Rate), government entities, enterprises, wireless and wireline carriers, and hyperscale/cloud providers.

The company was set up by Matt Erickson, one of Zayo's Co-Founders and chief operating officers. Since launching, Vero has served 237 markets across 20 US states and more than 21,000 customers.

The acquisition of TEC follows Vero's acquisition of Oregon-based BendTel Inc. in December.
