Vast Data has signed agreements with Google Cloud and CoreWeave for its Vast AI Operating System.
The AI storage and platform provider will, with Google Cloud, make its AI OS available as a fully managed service across hybrid environments, while CoreWeave has expanded its ongoing contract with Vast with a new $1.17 billion agreement for continued use of the platform.
The agreement between Vast and Google Cloud will be based on the Vast DataSpace, enabling users to connect clusters running in Google Cloud and on-premises.
In a demonstration, Vast has previously shown that DataSpace can connect clusters across distances as far as 10,000km (6,213 miles), linking one in the US with another in Japan. In addition, the US cluster was based on TPUs, and the Japan cluster on GPUs.
“Through our partnership with Google Cloud, we’re meeting customers where they are by delivering a fully managed AI OS,” said Jeff Denworth, co-founder at Vast Data. “When leveraging our global namespace with intelligent streaming, Google Cloud customers can auto-deploy a Vast-managed cluster via Google Cloud Marketplace and start production in minutes, providing integrated governance and billing, elastic scale, and supporting the hybrid cloud mission – and it’s all handled by Vast, making enterprise data instantly usable for agentic workloads.”
“Bringing Vast AI Operating System to Google Cloud Marketplace will help customers quickly deploy, manage, and grow the data solution on Google Cloud's trusted, global infrastructure," added Nirav Mehta, vice president, Compute Platform at Google Cloud. “Vast can now securely scale and support customers on their digital transformation journeys.”
Meanwhile, Vast's deal with CoreWeave will expand on the two companies' long-standing relationship. CoreWeave will continue to use the Vast AI OS under a new $1.17bn agreement, as well as bringing data services to their shared customers that extend across the full stack.
Renen Hallak, founder and CEO of VAST Data, said of the deal: “Our deep integration with CoreWeave is the result of a long-term commitment to working side by side at both the business and technical level. By aligning our roadmaps, we are delivering an AI platform that organizations cannot find anywhere else in the market.”
“The Vast AI Operating System underpins key aspects of how we design and deliver our AI cloud,” added Brian Venturo, co-founder and CSO of CoreWeave. “This partnership enables us to deliver AI infrastructure that is the most performant, scalable, and cost-efficient in the market, while reinforcing the trust and reliability of a data platform that our customers depend on for their most demanding workloads.”
Vast signed a similar agreement with UK-based neocloud Nscale in October 2025.
Earlier this year, Vast Data was reportedly seeking funding at a $30bn valuation.
Vast Data creates storage technology - using flash drives and other off-the-shelf hardware combined with specialized software - for large AI data centers and to improve the movement of data between GPUs.
The company unveiled an AI architecture for data centers in 2024 that was developed in partnership with Nvidia and built on Nvidia BlueField-3 data processing unit (DPU) technology, making it possible to "disaggregate the entirety of Vast’s operating system natively into AI computing machinery, transforming supercomputers into AI data engines."
