Cambridge Broadband Networks Group (CBNG) has fallen into administration, with 75 people losing their jobs.
The British company, which specializes in developing mmWave technology for 5G FWA products, appointed an administrator early last month (October 7).
According to a Companies House filing, PKF Littlejohn Advisory Limited has been appointed as the administrator of the company that has already ceased trading.
The company's website has been taken down, while CBNG's LinkedIn page has also disappeared.
Light Reading, which first broke the story late last week, reported that CBNG went out of business following Verizon's decision to not use its millimeter wave product for 5G fixed wireless access (FWA). Verizon was CBNG's main customer.
"Cambridge offered a technology product that complemented our mmWave solution. As production timelines increasingly fell short, we made the decision to end the relationship with the company, in the best interest of our customers and our business," said a Verizon spokesperson in a statement.
Founded in 2000, Cambridge-based CBNG delivered its services to more than 100 service providers globally. The company rebranded as CBNG in 2020, having previously operated as Cambridge Broadband Networks Group.
