With an expected completion in late November 2026, Gorilla said the acquisition was the first step in an expansion strategy that will see the company secure 100MW of capacity over the next year and a half.
The existing facility is an operational and revenue-generating colocation facility with around 6MW of capacity, but Gorilla says there is a “pathway” to 36MW of total site power capacity. The company says it has already obtained written support from local utilities for another 30MW of power, with an 18-month delivery timetable.
The facility will continue with its current operations following the proposed acquisition. The location and current owner of the site were not named.
Gorilla said the site has “expansion potential,” with expansion happening in phases, focusing on customer requirements and next-generation GPU systems.
Gorilla currently has several AI compute deployments in data centers across the Asia-Pacific region, including India, Thailand, and Indonesia.
“This is a defining step in Gorilla’s expansion into the US,” said Jay Chandan, chairman and CEO of Gorilla. “We have spent considerable time evaluating how we enter this market, and we believe the right approach is to own and control the infrastructure that sits underneath the AI economy.”
“We are not entering the United States simply to acquire a building. We are establishing the first piece of what we aim to become a significant AI infrastructure business. The combination of power, infrastructure, connectivity and customer demand gives us the opportunity to build something considerably larger from this initial platform.
He added: “Our objective is to control more of the infrastructure stack supporting our customers. Owning the data-center platform gives us greater control over deployment timelines, power, cooling and operating economics. Combined with customer-led GPU deployment, we believe that creates a significantly stronger long-term business model.”
The deal is subject to due diligence, including infrastructure assessment, utility and power verification, property and lease review, site inspection, and preparation of the development programme for the facility.
