Asset management firm TPG is reportedly looking to acquire Netrality Data Centers for up to $3 billion.

Citing sources familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reports a deal could be reached in the latter half of this year.

Founded in 1992, TPG has investments in various industries and technologies, with recent investments in telecommunications and communications infrastructure through its TPG Peppertree business.

Netrality operates interconnection data centers across the US. It offers colocation, powered shell, and wholesale data center services.

The company says its offerings span 18 properties with a combined total of 3.3 million sq ft (306,580 sqm) and more than 100MW of capacity.

Netrality is backed by long-term investment from Macquarie Asset Management.
