T-Mobile has blamed an outage that affected some of its customers in Utah yesterday (November 12) on a mechanical issue.
The outage happened around 11:15am (PT) according to Downdetector, reaching a peak of just over 19,000 reports, before it steadily declined until around 1:30pm (PT).
According to a heat map at the time of the incident, the outage appeared to only impact Salt Lake City, Utah.
A number of people also took to social media to report the outage, noting that the incident also impacted Mint Mobile, an MVNO that runs on T-Mobile's network.
"A facility in the Salt Lake area had a brief mechanical issue that impacted connectivity for some customers in that market, but this is now resolved and service is restored. We apologize for the inconvenience," said T-Mobile in a statement.
T-Mobile's outage yesterday followed a Verizon outage earlier in the day.
Verizon's outage affected users on the East Coast of the country, mainly impacting its Fios users. In a statement to DCD yesterday, Verizon said it had restored services to normal.
