Satline, a colocation and hosting provider targeting the satellite communications sector, has taken space in a UK data center.

It is "equipped with two new satellite antennas supporting the 5°W and 28.2°E beams,” according to a statement from the company this week.

It continued: “This expansion broadens our coverage, improves network resilience, and delivers ultra-low-latency performance for broadcast and OTT workflows across Europe and beyond. It’s another important step forward in our mission to keep satcom businesses connected, resilient, and ready for the future.”

Details on the data center weren’t shared beyond it is Tier III certified. The company said the new data center has reserved space for new satellite positions, additional server rack space, and increased bandwidth for the firm.

The company said by processing data locally in the UK, customers can now store, originate, and distribute content closer to their audiences – via their own networks, CDNs, or private connections – with lower latency and improved resilience.

“The launch of our new UK data center marks an important step in strengthening satellite connectivity across Europe and beyond,” said Gleb Sazanov, CEO of Satline.

“We can now offer new satellite positions and world-class infrastructure, ensuring our clients the lowest possible latency and the reliability essential for today’s fast-evolving broadcasting and IPTV markets.”

Satline provides colocation services and hosting tailored for satellite communication businesses. The company operates a satellite antenna fleet, which receives satellite RF signals and converts them into Internet Protocol (IP) streams. Its offerings include satellite to IP stream servers, DVB servers for satellite downlink, and telecoms equipment colocation.

The firm said it is partnered with hosting firm Hostline, which operates a private data center in Lithuania in Vilnius, and has a presence in a second partner site in the city. It operates within third-party facilities in Amsterdam (Serverius), New York, Hong Kong, London, and Shanghai (all Equinix).
