SambaNova has partnered with Supermicro for the deployment of SN50 RDU chips.

In a statement, SambaNova said Supermicro would initially purchase 10,000 SN50 RDUs from the AI chip company in order to build and sell AI disaggregated inference systems.

Those Supermicro systems will comprise both Nvidia GPUs and SambaNova RDUs, with the server maker set to integrate, test, deliver, and support the systems for customers, including providing on-site service.

Meanwhile, engineers from SambaNova will ensure AI models are tuned to run on the SN50 chips, and will support Supermicro with deployments, starting with neoclouds and sovereign cloud providers, before expanding to enterprises looking to run AI in their own data centers.

SambaNova first unveiled the chips, dubbed SN50 AI, in February 2026, stating that the hardware had been designed to support agentic AI workloads. At the time, the company claimed the RDUs were 5x faster than “competitive chips,” offering a 3x lower total cost of ownership, although it did not name the comparative hardware.

Built using the company’s Reconfigurable Data Unit (RDU) architecture, SN50 features a three-tier memory design that supports ten-trillion-parameter models and can power “thousands of simultaneous AI sessions with consistent high performance.” SambaNova added that the chip also offers 4x more network bandwidth than its previous generation, and up to 256 accelerators can be linked over a multi-terabyte-per-second interconnect.

"Agentic AI is the next wave of inference, and it has to run everywhere," said Rodrigo Liang, co-founder and CEO of SambaNova. "Supermicro builds AI infrastructure for data centers globally. Now customers can order SN50 RDUs alongside GPUs, from a world-leading partner they trust. That's how fast, efficient inference gets to scale."

Charles Liang, president and CEO of Supermicro, added: “Supermicro is committed to delivering flexible, high-performance AI infrastructure that supports the evolving requirements of our customers. Our collaboration with SambaNova expands our broad DCBBS portfolio by enabling heterogeneous architectures that integrate GPU computing with specialized inference acceleration, helping customers deploy efficient, scalable AI solutions.”

Founded in 2017, SambaNova previously focused on training workloads, but pivoted in 2025 to become an AI cloud services provider. Its Suite product is touted as an on-prem or cloud-based offering that allows companies to train their own generative AI models based on popular foundation models.

The company first unveiled its SambaNova Cloud in September 2024. It provides cloud-based AI inference services using the company’s SN40L AI chip, launched in September 2023 and capable of running models with up to five trillion parameters.
