Russian data center firm IXcellerate is expanding its footprint in Moscow.

The company recently announced the launch of a new facility at one of its two campuses in the capital, and announced plans for a third site.

IXcellerate opens MOS3

Late October saw IXcellerate announce the completion of construction and launch of its MOS3 data center.

The 30MW, 2,400-rack facility is the fourth and final building within the firm’s Northern Moscow Campus, located in the Altufyevo district of the city. The four-story building totals 7,365 sqm (79,276 sq ft) across six data halls.

The company said 1,400 rack spaces are functioning, and another 1,000 have been contracted and will be delivered by January 2026. The entire building was fully pre-leased by both existing and new customers.

Built on the site of a former brick factory, MOS3 offers an average rack density of 8kW, with potential to offer 25kW.

Founded in 2011 by Guy Willner, IXcellerate first launched its facility at the Moscow North campus around 2013. Today, IXcellerate has five operating data centers across two campuses. The company said the total number of rack spaces across the two campuses at the end of 2025 will reach 10,329.

IXcellerate has previously secured funding from Mubadala, Sberbank, and RDIF.

IXcellerate acquires land for third Moscow campus

November, meanwhile, saw IXcellerate complete the acquisition of a 5.5-hectare land plot and commence development of its third campus.

The new site sits near Vёshki in the Mytishchi urban district of the Moscow Region, around 6km from IXcellerate’s North campus in Altufyevo.

The IXcellerate Vёshki campus will deliver a total capacity of 7,500 rack spaces and over 130MW of total power across two new facilities — MOS11 and MOS12.

MOS11 will provide 2,500 racks and 40MW, housed in an existing building set to be repurposed. MOS11 will go live in summer 2026.

Construction of MOS12, the second data center on the campus, is planned to begin in 2027 with phased capacity rollouts targeted for 2029–2030.

The company said the project will draw financing from a combination of reinvested earnings and debt capital.

Aksenov said: “The third campus represents a natural progression in executing our long-term strategy. We offer the market not isolated installations but interconnected ecosystems that enable our customers to scale from tens to thousands of racks over many years, eliminating migration risks and provider changes. Each year, we commission approximately 2,000 rack spaces, delivering critical infrastructure for the growth of [the] Russian digital economy.”
