Quantum computing companies D-Wave and Rigetti have both regained compliance with their respective stock exchanges after falling foul of listing requirements over low share prices.
In October, both companies received letters from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Nasdaq, respectively, warning they were not complying with the minimum required share price for listing. As a result, both faced being delisted if their share prices did not improve.
However, D-Wave this week announced it has regained compliance with the NYSE continued listing standard for minimum share price. The company’s stock had been trading mostly below the required $1 threshold since August.
It has been trading above the $1 mark since mid-October, and at time of writing stands around $1.09.
Rigetti also announced this week that it had received notification from Nasdaq confirming it had regained compliance with listing requirements after its stock had risen above the $1 threshold. Like D-Wave, the company’s stock had been trading mostly below the required $1 threshold since August.
It has, however, been trading above the $1 mark since mid-October and at the time of writing, stands at around $1.10.
This was not the first time either company had faced desisting from their stock exchanges.
D-Wave faced similar stock price issues in March last year, regaining compliance by the summer. It was then warned again about its share price in October 2023, but recovered its share price enough by March 2024.
Rigetti previously faced delisting from the Nasdaq in February 2023 after its stock had been trading below the required $1 threshold for around two months. The company managed to regain compliance by July of that year.
D-Wave, which offers quantum machines that utilize quantum annealing, went public in August 2022 after a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) merger with DPCM Capital.
Rigetti went public in March 2022 via a SPAC merger with Supernova Partners Acquisition Company II, Ltd.
IonQ, another quantum computing firm, is currently trading at $15.30 per share on the NYSE.
