New Zealand’s energy storage firm PowerShield has launched its PowerShield8 battery monitoring system for lithium-ion batteries.
The company said its new system provides ‘comprehensive visibility into a facility’s lithium-ion UPS battery assets’ and can be integrated into existing PowerShield platforms for VRLA batteries.
The platform allows insight into the provision of rack, module, and cell level details for a better understanding of battery performance.
“This is the solution the industry has been waiting for. The industry has long struggled to gain full visibility of its lithium-ion battery assets, but now, with our lithium solution, that visibility is achievable,” said Len Thomas, CEO and managing director at PowerShield.
PowerShield added it has had numerous requests for a lithium-ion solution, especially as lithium-ion batteries have a longer operating life.
In addition, the company has launched its PowerShield Assure cloud platform for further insights into battery health and the performance of all connected battery systems - both lead-acid and lithium.
Founded in 1996, PowerShield specializes in providing battery monitoring solutions. It says more than one million batteries are being monitored by its systems across the world.
