Indian photonic quantum startup Quanfluence has raised $10 million to support its development of a full-stack quantum computer.
The round was led by Chiratae Ventures and saw participation from Pi Ventures and Rainmatter by Zerodha.
Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Bengaluru, southern India, the startup is currently incubated at the IIT Madras Incubation Cell. Three of its founders previously built Silicon and Beyond, a semiconductor IP company acquired by Synopsys.
Quanfluence previously raised $2m in December 2024. In a statement, the startup said that since that funding round, it has built out several of the core technologies necessary to support its full-stack architecture, including multiple photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and electronic integrated circuits (EICs). It has also developed low-loss chip-to-fiber coupling designs and demonstrated the generation of quantum light states.
Additionally, the company said that “several quantum devices” it has developed are now commercially available, with its roadmap targeting the availability of its early processors by 2027, and larger scalable machines by 2029.
“Our goal at Quanfluence has never been to build a better experiment. It has been to build a useful quantum computer,” said Sujoy Chakravarty, co-founder and CEO, Quanfluence.
“We chose photonics because we believe it gives us a path to scale. Over the last few years, we have built the core pieces: the ICs, the electronics, the optics, and the algorithms. This funding allows us to bring those pieces together into a complete system.”
