Lumen Technologies has secured a contract just shy of $74 million from the US Government Accountability Office (GAO).

The contract will see Lumen modernize network, data, voice, and video connectivity for the GAO.

The GAO serves as the audit, evaluation, and investigative arm of Congress.

The total value of the contract is worth $73.6m and was awarded under the General Services Administration's Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) program.

In its announcement, Lumen said it will deliver secure managed network services, virtual private network services, ethernet transport services, Internet protocol services, videoconferencing services, and voice and toll-free services to GAO.

"Lumen's network strength is helping GAO transform how it connects and communicates using modern technology - an important move that will help the agency make timely recommendations to Congress that save taxpayer money and benefit the American people," said Jason Schulman, Lumen national VP of federal government sales.

"GAO chose Lumen to guide the agency as it adopts, manages, and leads through technology evolutions and digital transformation."

Lumen notes that the task order has a base performance period of one year, with eight additional one-year options.

In 2022, Lumen was awarded a $1.2 billion network services contract by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) to offer secure remote access, contact center, and cloud connectivity solutions to the USDA sites.

Last year, the company bagged a $223m DISA contract to support US DoD, before winning an additional $110m contract from DISA to provide mission-critical network services to the DoD.
