The Bolivian Attorney General's Office has started construction of a new data center to support the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The project was inaugurated by Attorney General Roger Mariaca Montenegro at a groundbreaking ceremony, where he stressed that the future data center will enable more efficient, transparent, and secure management of judicial information throughout the country.

The work will be developed in two phases. In the first, a facility will be built under international standards TIA-942 Rate-2 or ICREA Level II, with the objective of guaranteeing a robust and resilient platform for critical applications of the justice system. In a second stage, the Prosecutor's Office aims to upgrade the infrastructure to TIA-942 Rate-3 or ICREA Level III, increasing redundancy, availability, and fault tolerance to levels typical of mission-critical environments

According to Mariaca, this infrastructure will be the "technological backbone" of Bolivian justice in the coming years, bringing the services of the Public Prosecutor's Office closer to citizens and reducing response times in investigations and procedures.

The project will combine the Public Prosecutor's Office's own resources with support from the European Union, which will finance part of the technological equipment.

Bolivia has a small data center market - Data Center Map lists just five facilities from five operators, mainly local telecoms firms or service providers.
