APAC data center firm Keppel DC REIT has secured close to $400 million in new debt funding.
Keppel DC REIT Management Pte. Ltd., as manager of Keppel DC REIT, this week announced that a subsidiary of Keppel DC REIT, KDCR Tokyo 2 TMK, has obtained loan facilities and issued Green Bonds.
The funding includes a JPY11 billion ($70.5 million) term loan facility and JPY7.48bn ($47.95m) consumption tax loan facility, and a JPY44bn ($282.1m) green bond.
The debt facilities are guaranteed by Perpetual (Asia) Limited, in its capacity as trustee of Keppel DC REIT.
Keppel’s data center portfolio currently totals 35 facilities across Europe and Asia Pacific, with 650MW of power capacity. The asset management firm closed its third data center investment fund in April, and its connectivity division recently inked an agreement with Dell to develop data centers.
Founded in 1968, Keppel Ltd is a Singaporean investment firm. Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, Temasek, is a major shareholder in the firm. Keppel’s portfolio spans real estate, telecoms, and energy infrastructure. Its data center companies include Keppel DC REIT and Keppel Data Centers.
Keppel DC REIT went public in 2014. The company’s portfolio spans data centers across Singapore, Australia, China, Japan, Malaysia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, and the UK.
In Japan, the company currently lists one facility in Tokyo. Tokyo DC 1 is located in Tama City, in the west of Tokyo. The firm acquired a second facility in the Inzai area of the city in September.
