JLL has acquired data center consultancy VIPA Digital in a move to bolster its data center data service capabilities.

The commercial real estate services firm said the acquisition reflects the “growing importance” of data centers, and would allow it to offer services across the data center lifecycle.

Founded in 2018, VIPA has a resume of more than 168 data center projects across 31 countries.

The VIPA team will join JLL’s Work Dynamics division, led by its founders Vijay Mistry and Paul Cranfield, who will report to Sue Asprey Price, CEO of EMEA Work Dynamics and global head of portfolio services.

“This acquisition is a clear demonstration of JLL's commitment to the data center sector as a core pillar of our Accelerate 2030 strategy and positions us to expertly support our clients' data center solutions now and into the future,” said EMEA CEO Price.

"We're thrilled to join JLL at such a pivotal moment for the sector. VIPA has built its reputation by delivering institutional-grade advice to some of the leading investors and operators through a unique approach that bridges commercial, technical, and market perspectives," said VIPA’s Mistry. “Partnering with JLL allows us to bring that same rigor and independence to a broader client base, while delivering the end-to-end solutions the market is demanding."

JLL already offers data center-specific services. Earlier this year, the company forecast $3 trillion in data center investment by 2031.

In 2024, JLL acquired New York data center and project management services company SKAE Power Solutions.
