Japanese technology company Datasection has purchased a number of Nvidia B200 GPUs that will be deployed in Thailand.

The company revealed on June 4 that it had purchased 4,696 B200 GPUs - or 587 servers - from ASRock Rack Corporation, and would be deploying the servers in an upcoming data center in Bangkok, Thailand.

ASRock Rack is a Taiwanese company that provides advanced thermal management technologies and high-density server architecture. The GPU purchase agreement has an estimated value of $257.4 million.

The data center is currently under development, but is expected to begin phased operations in July and August 2026. ASRock Rack will continue to work with Datasection as it seeks to ramp up capacity at the data center.

According to Datasection, the data center and GPUs will be used by an unnamed US-based technology company. The GPU is being funded by advance payments from the customer, borrowings of $180m, and proceeds from a share acquisition, which is yet to be determined.

Plans for the Thailand data center were revealed by Datasection in December 2025, at the time stating that it would have 10MW of power supply by the start of this year. The company plans to gradually expand its AI capacity in the country.

Most of Thailand's data centers are located in and around Bangkok. Operators include STT, True IDC, NT Data Center, NTT, and Etix Everywhere.

Datasection previously was said to be working with Solaria on a data center project in Puertollano in Spain, though no updates have been provided since late 2024. The company has or is developing data centers in Sydney, Australia, and Chiba and Osaka, Japan. The latter is in partnership with KDDI and Supermicro.

Datasection has said it aims to strengthen its position as a major supplier of AI computing resources across the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on Japan, Australia, and Thailand. It is also exploring expanding into the UAE.
