Huawei is building a third availability zone for its Brazilian cloud region that is due live next year, and is planning a third Mexican availability zone.
First reported by BNAmericas, the Brazilian zone is planned to go live in the first quarter of 2024.
Huawei’s Mark Chen, director of Huawei Cloud solution sales, made the announcement during the company's Cloud Summit Brasil 2023 event this week.
Chen also reaffirmed plans to develop a second availability zone in Mexico, and announced plans for a third availability zone in the country.
Chen also reaffirmed plans for a third zone in Chile. Dates were not provided.
After launching in São Paulo in 2019, the company opened a second availability zone in Brazil. The company also announced plans for a second facility in Mexico last year, without providing details.
Huawei announced its first Chilean facility in Santiago in 2019, with plans for a second in the capital, revealed a year later.
As well as a number of regions across China and Hong Kong, Huawei Cloud currently lists international regions in Dublin, Ireland; Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Paris, France; Bangkok, Thailand; Singapore; Jakarta; Indonesia; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Istanbul, Turkey; Johannesburg, South Africa; Mexico City, Mexico; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Lima, Peru; and Santiago, Chile.
The company’s website also lists a new region in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, but shows no available services yet.
