US battery energy storage developer Greenflash Infrastructure has secured more than 10GWh of lithium-ion battery energy storage equipment under safe-harbor provisions to accelerate delivery timelines for data center projects across the US.

The Houston-based developer said the deal will lock in long-lead components during a period when battery manufacturing capacity is tightening amid surging demand. In addition to the safe-harbor equipment, Greenflash has more than 1GWh of battery capacity available for near-term deployment, with an additional 2GWh scheduled for delivery in March 2026.

According to the company, the combined position is intended to limit exposure to extended manufacturing timelines and cost uncertainty. In addition to preserving flexibility to participate in applicable investment tax credit frameworks.

Greenflash claims that the strategy will enable earlier commercial operations for gigawatt-hour-scale developments, depending on interconnection readiness and other factors.

“As hyperscale and AI-driven demand accelerates, early access to compliant battery capacity has become increasingly limited,” the company said, arguing that many developments remain exposed to prolonged procurement cycles and evolving domestic content and tax credit requirements.

“By pairing a substantial safe-harbored equipment position with readily deployable inventory, we’ve reduced execution risk for our partners and positioned projects to move forward as interconnection pathways and market conditions develop across ERCOT and other major US power markets,” Vishal Apte, managing partner at Greenflash, said.

Greenflash’s battery energy storage platform is designed to support data center operators by reducing schedule risk, maintaining flexibility around ITC participation, and improving reliability and operational resilience through integrated storage deployments.
