Flexential is expanding its data center footprint in Atlanta, Georgia.

The company this week announced the planned development of a 48,000 sq ft (4,459 sqm), 4.5MW data center.

The Norcross 2 facility, located at 2755 Northwoods Parkway in Norcross, is expected to go live in the first half of 2028.

The data center will be Flexential’s fifth around Atlanta, taking its footprint in the area to 800,000 sq ft (74,322 sqm) and 73MW of capacity. It also operates facilities in the Douglasville and Alpharetta areas of Atlanta.

Norcross 1, located at 2775 Northwoods Parkway, offers 1.8MW across 32,740 sq ft (3,042 sqm). It provides access to more than 80 carriers. Flexential has occupied the site since its Peak 10 days – first announcing plans to launch a facility in Norcross back in 2007. Previously leasing the site from Mapletree Industrial Trust, Flexential acquired the facility last year.

Flexential was formed in 2017 after investment firm GI Partners merged data center firms Peak 10 and ViaWest. The company has more than 40 data centers and 360MW of capacity online or in development across 18 markets in the US.

Flexential’s portfolio spans Atlanta, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Louisville, Minneapolis, Nashville, Phoenix, Portland, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, and Tampa.

It also has facilities under construction in the Douglasville area of Atlanta; Parker, Colorado; and Hillsboro, Oregon.
