A local government in Mexico is set to develop a new data center.

The Government of Morelos has announced plans for the new Morelos Data Center, aimed at protecting, backing up, and consolidating the administrative information of all state agencies.

The project was announced by Governor Margarita González Saravia, who noted that "this digitization will contribute to guarantee security, availability and efficiency in the management of government information, which represents a qualitative leap in state administrative modernization," while confirming that the center aims to "preserve historical and current data of the secretariats, gradually replacing physical files, which traditionally face conservation and consultation problems."

This new data center is planned following the national strategy promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum, encouraging the creation of data centers at the federal level to strengthen the development of information technology and artificial intelligence in Mexico.

For the time being, the project has already been approved by the local Congress and is included in the state budget for the next fiscal year, thus guaranteeing its financing and sustainability for its construction and operation.
