EdgeConneX has acquired a 180-acre parcel near one of its data center projects in Bastrop, Texas, according to a report.

Bastrop County property records show that a land parcel at 6682 FM 535 Cedar Creek, located near EdgeConneX’s in-development AUS02 campus, was sold by its previous owner to an EdgeConneX affiliate last November.

This was done by way of a special warranty deed, a legal instrument used to transfer real estate ownership between parties.

It is unclear what this parcel will be used for. The Austin Business Journal noted that commercial real estate firm Franklin Street, which announced its involvement in the sale of the parcel last December without naming EdgeConneX, stated that the “new owner” intends to build a “mixed-use commercial development.”

EdgeConneX’s AUS02 is located at 8001 Wolf Lane, and it is expected to span 578,000 sq ft (54,000 sqm) across two storeys, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

It is set to be completed in mid-2026, where it will offer around 240MW of capacity as per EdgeConnex’s website.

Bastrop County is located outside of Austin, Texas, which is home to one of the state’s largest data center concentrations. The county is also home to the upcoming Waterloo Solar project, which will deliver 100 percent of its output to Meta once operational.
