Centcore, the data center wing of Florida-based tech company Mitesco, said that it would launch its Edge data center platform early next year.

The platform, dubbed TC/DC, will undergo prototype testing in Q3 2026 followed by commercial delivery in Q1 2027, according to Centcore CEO Brian Valania.

Launched in 2024, Centcore provides colocation, cloud, and other data center services, but announced last year that it would be collaborating with financial services firm United Commercial Partners to develop a network of small facilities across residential, rural, and small-business environments.

“We recognize the resistance in many communities to large-format data centers whose massive power needs may undermine the overall interests of the local population,” said Valania.

“We think a better alternative is a nationwide network of very small-format, low-power systems as nodes in a highly connected network configuration, generally following the approach known as ‘Edge computing.’”

Valania said that prototype testing would happen in Q3 2026, followed by commercial delivery in Q1 2027. He estimates that the platform could scale to around 10,000 units within 18 to 24 months.

Centcore previously said that these data centers would cover around 5,000 to 10,000 square feet (465 - 929 sqm) and would be housed in existing structures that already have suitable power, water, and HVAC on-site.

Valania said that Centcore would “reach out to homebuyers that may see this as a value-add for the new homebuyers,” saying that the incremental revenue from an installation of a Centcore Edge data center could be used to qualify for a mortgage or to cover other costs.

Mitesco also specializes in healthcare technology as well as data centers and digital infrastructure.
