Australian data center firm DXN is to supply a prefabricated cable landing station (CLS) to consulting firm APTelecom.
The company announced the AU$1.8 million (US$1.2m) deal this week, saying the module was for an unnamed "international digital infrastructure project."
The module will be developed at DXN’s manufacturing site in Perth, Western Australia. Construction will commence in November 2025, and shipment is currently scheduled for February 2026. On-site commissioning is expected to be completed by May 2026.
Shalini Lagrutta, managing director of DXN, said: "DXN is delighted to be partnering with APTelecom on this important project delivering critical infrastructure to support next-generation connectivity. We continue to innovate and strengthen our position in the modular data infrastructure market, and we're proud to be selected for this project."
DXN said it has delivered more than 100 modular data centers to date. Customers include logistic firm DP World, AngloAmerican, gold miner Newcrest in New South Wales, Stanmore Coal, as well as Boeing, Covalent Lithium, Pilbara Minerals, and satellite firm Globalstar.
The company has previously delivered cable landing station modules to Sub.co on the Cocos (Keeling) Islands for the Oman – Australia Cable and to the island of Palau for the Meta/Google-led Echo subsea cable. It was also the CLS provider for the East Micronesia Cable System (EMCS).
Founded in 2009, APTelecom is a telecoms consultancy firm. Which project DXN’s CLS will be hosting wasn’t shared, but APTelecom is known to be involved with Indonesian company Super Sistem’s planned Barat Timur Indonesia (BTI) subsea cable system and Hexa Capital Consultancy’s US-Malaysia MYUS project.
