Australian data center firm DXN is to supply a prefabricated Edge data center to an unnamed communications company.

The company this week announced it had been awarded a AU$1.4 million (US$931,000) contract by a “leading provider of communications and IT services” to design, build, and install an Edge data center.

Details weren’t shared, but the module will be located “in the Pacific” and is set for completion by the end of June 2026.

“The customer connects remote operations for industries globally; this initiative will boost Internet connectivity across the Pacific and assist with a global ground network by mid-2026.”

DXN said it has delivered more than 100 modular data centers to date. Customers include logistic firm DP World, AngloAmerican, gold miner Newcrest in New South Wales, Stanmore Coal, as well as Boeing, Covalent Lithium, Pilbara Minerals, and satellite firm Globalstar.

The company has previously delivered cable landing station modules to Sub.co on the Cocos (Keeling) Islands for the Oman – Australia Cable and to the island of Palau for the Meta/Google-led Echo subsea cable. It was also the CLS provider for the East Micronesia Cable System (EMCS).
