Digital Edge has secured a $665 million green loan to support the first-phase development of its 500MW CGK Campus in Indonesia.

The campus is located in the GIIC Industrial Estate in Bekasi, with scalability of up to 1GW.

In an earlier announcement, Digital Edge said the campus will be built in several phases, the first of which will consist of three buildings, each set to be operational in Q4 2026, Q1 2027, and Q2 2027, respectively.

The data center developer said the campus is purpose-built for AI and data-intensive workloads.

The funding is the largest recorded green data center loan in Indonesia, according to Digital Edge, and is structured under the company’s Green Financing Framework, supporting its 2030 carbon neutrality goals.

Digital Edge said the campus has been designed to target an annualized power usage effectiveness of 1.25, incorporate recycled water systems, and integrate renewable energy.

The company said it aims to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification with the campus.

The financing was led by BNP Paribas, Clifford Capital, Crédit Agricole, DBS, Mizuho, OCBC, PT Bank Central Asia, with SMBC as mandated lead arrangers. Crédit Agricole, DBS, and PT Bank Central Asia also acted as green facility coordinators.

Digital Edge was formed by New York-based private equity firm Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners in August 2020.

The data center developer entered Indonesia in 2021, following the acquisition of a majority stake in Indonet.

The developer has around 25 data centers in operation and under construction, with more than 1.1 GW of IT power across Japan, Korea, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
