APAC data center firm Digital Edge has secured new debt in Indonesia to fuel its build-out in the country.

Digital Edge (Singapore) Holdings Pte. Ltd. this week announced the successful close of an IDR 5.5 trillion ($325 million) corporate facility from local financial firm PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA).

The corporate facility is provided to Digital Edge’s Indonesia platform, comprising the controlled subsidiaries, PT Indointernet Tbk (Indonet) and wholly owned subsidiary PT Ekagrata Data Gemilang (Edge DC).

The proceeds from the facility will be used to support Digital Edge’s new build expansion in the Jakarta metro, refinance existing BCA facility, and fund completion of the final phase of the 23MW EDGE2 site located in Jl. Kuningan Mulia, South Jakarta.

Through this financing facility, we hope to contribute to accelerating national digital transformation.”

New York-based private equity firm Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners formed Digital Edge in August 2020. The company has around 25 data centers in operation and under construction, and more than 1.1GW of secured IT power across Japan, Korea, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Digital Edge took full control of Indonet in December 2023, having held a majority stake in the company since 2021. Construction on EDGE2 started in 2022, with the first phase launching last year.

Indonet was founded in 1994 and was the first commercial Internet Service Provider in Indonesia. The company currently has one data center, Edge 1, a 6MW facility located in downtown Jakarta. BCA has previously provided Indonet with funding.
