Digi Power X will use the financing to support the development of its 40MW data center project in Columbiana, Alabama.

The data center is being developed in two phases: phase one with 15MW of IT load, and phase two to deliver 25MW incrementally for a total IT capacity of 40MW. The phases will be delivered by the end of 2026 and the end of Q1, 2027, respectively. According to Digi Power X, the project remains on track.

Wafer-scale chip company and cloud provider Cerebras signed on for the full capacity at the site in May of this year.

At the time of writing, Digi Power X holds approximately $135 million in cash and has invested approximately $153 million in capital expenditures in 2026.

Formerly known as Digihost, Digi Power X was previously focused on mining cryptocurrencies and placing mining hardware at power plants for itself and other companies. As with many other crypto firms, the company is pivoting to host AI hardware amid a capacity crunch, and in 2025 launched US Data Centers to focus on AI and HPC colocation.

Through US Data Centers, the company operates modular Arms 200 compute units, for which it has one deployment already up and running.

Digi Power owns and operates three data center sites across Columbiana, as well as Buffalo and North Tonawanada in New York, and has also acquired an office and laboratory facility in Silicon Valley to develop the technology and operational intelligence supporting its AI token factory strategy.

The company is aiming to transform its New York sites into AI data centers, though plans have been impacted by a local data center moratorium signed into law in June 2026.
