Dell Technologies is “reimagining the modern data center” via a series of product launches across its storage, compute, and cybersecurity offerings.

Announced during the company’s Dell Technologies World conference, currently taking place in Las Vegas, the updates include a new addition to its PowerStore platform, dubbed PowerStore Elite, and the 18th generation of its PowerEdge servers.

Available globally from July 2026, Dell describes PowerStore Elite as a “new class of modern storage platform” that supports block, file, virtual machines, and container workloads with mixed-generation clustering.

Based on Intel Xeon Scalable processors, PowerStore Elite is comprised of 50 percent more Intel CPU cores than Dell’s PowerStore 3200T and PowerStore 5500 models. It also contains DDR5 memory, PCIe Gen 5 support, and a new 200GB RDMA node interconnect to improve internal load balancing and failover.

The platform will be available in three models, Dell PowerStore 1500, 5500, and 9500, on either TLC or QLC media, offering up to 40 drives and 5.8PB of effective capacity in a single 3U chassis. Furthermore, according to Dell, PowerStore Elite delivers “up to 3x the density of prior generations on low-profile E3 NVMe flash,” and can integrate into existing customer environments.

Updates to the platform’s software also help to drive performance and throughput increases, with PowerStore Elite offering a 3x improvement across both metrics when compared to previous generation systems, Dell claimed.

The company has also extended its AI-powered ransomware detection software directly into Dell PowerStore via Dell’s new Dell Cyber Detect integrated offering.

AMD and Intel to power Dell’s new server lineup

Dell also unveiled the 18th generation of its PowerEdge servers, delivering up to 70 percent better performance compared to their 17th generation predecessor through “advanced air-and liquid cooling designs,” the company said.

Primarily powered by AMD sixth-generation Epyc processors, one server in the newly launched product portfolio will be powered by Intel’s forthcoming server processor, codenamed Diamond Rapids. Dubbed PowerEdge R9810, the Intel-powered offering is a “high-end, single-socket 2U server” that will deliver double the memory bandwidth, increased cache capacity, and up to a 50 percent increase in core count with PCIe expansion.

Designed for the AI and high-performance workloads, the liquid-cooled PowerEdge M9825 contains sixth-generation AMD Epyc CPUs to deliver “modular, ultra-dense compute in factory-integrated IR7000 racks,” while the new air-cooled PowerEdge XE5845 and XE7845 servers bring “higher performance and greater flexibility to PCIe-based AI deployments, supporting next-generation GPUs.”

The dual-socket, 3U PowerEdge R9825 and the single-socket, 2U R9815 both feature the same AMD Epyc processors, offering up to 256 cores per system and increased I/O bandwidth without the need for liquid-cooling technology.

Finally, rounding out the lineup are the AMD-powered 1U PowerEdge R8815 and R6815 offerings, with Dell stating that these servers reduce power, cooling, and licensing costs by consolidating dual-socket footprints onto a single-socket platform. Additionally, the PowerEdge R7815 offers flexible PCIe Gen6 and drive configurations, while the R7815xd extends the single-socket design into storage-dense environments, and the dual-socket R7825 expands scalability for dense virtualization and analytics.

Dell PowerEdge M9825, R9825, and R9815 servers will be available in 2H 2026; Dell PowerEdge XE5845 and XE7845 servers will be available in Q1 2027; and Dell PowerEdge R9810, R8815, R6815, R7815, R7815xd, and R7825 servers will be available sometime in 2027.
