Corscale has broken ground on a third building at its Gainsville Crossing Campus in Northern Virginia.
In a recent LinkedIn post, the company said it had now commenced vertical construction of the 54MW facility.
The two-story facility has already been fully leased to an undisclosed client.
Whilst Corscale did not disclose specifications of the third building, the entire 130-acre campus is expected to span 2.3 million square feet across five buildings with 325MW of IT capacity.
The campus will use advanced cooling techniques, energy tracking, water conservation, and an ultra-low PUE.
Timelines for the third building have not been shared. Corscale broke ground on its first building on the campus in February 2022. It was expected to come online in Q4 2022, but an update earlier this year said the building was nearing completion. At present, the first facility is yet to launch.
“Our continued expansion at the Gainesville Crossing Campus underscores Corscale’s commitment to delivering innovative, energy efficient solutions that empower our customers to meet the evolving demands of cloud and AI technologies,” said Corscale president and CEO Robert Fields. “This milestone is a testament to our team’s expertise, strategic vision, and dedication to hyperscale data center development.”
Corgan is the architect of the project, whilst HITT Contracting is the primary contractor.
Corscale, an affiliate of Patrinely and Affinius Capital, has developed more than 120 data centers in the past decade across the US and Western Europe. Corscale is currently planning a 140MW campus in Iver, UK, and has plans for a second Virginia facility in Loudoun County.
