AI cloud company CoreWeave is set to lease one of the data center buildings at EdgeConneX's Cedar Creek data center campus in Bastrop County, Texas.

As reported by Community Impact and shown in county records for a tax abatement agreement, CoreWeave will lease Building 1 at the colocation provider's new Cedar Creek campus.

CoreWeave has been awarded a 75 percent tax abatement on the value of "improvements" to the facility as of September 4, 2025. Improvements include purchases related to electricity for operating and cooling the data center, equipment for cooling, backup generators, servers and hardware, networking equipment, racks and cabinets, and software, among others.

State records list the data center in question as being EdgeConneX's AUS02 facility.

AUS02 is described in a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing as a two-story data center building spanning 578,000 sq ft. It had an estimated cost of $440 million and was set to be completed by mid-June 2026. It is located at 8001 Wolf Lane 6752 FM 535.

According to the county records, the campus will have four data center buildings once completed. EdgeConneX filed for the most recent two additions in June 2026, which will span 730,000 sq ft (67,820 sqm). Occupants at the other buildings have yet to be announced.

Construction on the first buildings began in Q4 2024, as per the tax abatement document.

Cedar Creek and Bastrop County sit just southeast of Austin. According to EdgeConneX, its combined Austin sites will offer 240MW of capacity.

Community Impact reports that EdgeConneX has three campuses in the works in the Austin area. The other sites being looked at are 6682 FM 535, 6402 FM 535, and 6543 FM 535 in Cedar Creek. In total, up to 18 buildings could be developed at all sites should development go ahead.

CoreWeave already has significant capacity in the state of Texas, having signed lease agreements with Galaxy for its Helios data center campus and Core Scientific's Denton data center campus.

According to the company's website, it now has 49 data centers operating across North America and Europe with more than 1GW of capacity.

Though it is developing some of its own sites, CoreWeave largely relies on third parties for its data center capacity. Companies leasing to the AI cloud provider in North America include Core Scientific, Galaxy, Related Digital, Applied Digital, Chirisa Technology Parks, Lincoln, Flexential, TierPoint, Digital Realty, DataBank, Switch, Digital Crossroads, eStruxture, Bell Canada, and others.

CoreWeave customers include OpenAI, Microsoft, IBM, Nvidia, and Meta.
