The data center firm is currently developing a 70MW facility in Muskogee, south of Tulsa in Muskogee County. Leased to AI cloud firm CoreWeave, the building at 1525 W 43rd St S is designed to support Nvidia GB300s and is currently progressing through final testing and commissioning. It is on track for a Q2 2026 delivery.

Core Scientific this week said it aims to expand the campus to 1.5GW of gross power, representing 1GW of leasable capacity.

The company has entered into an agreement to acquire Polaris DS LLC, a Bitcoin mining firm that has 440MW of gross power contracted and utilized under an energy agreement with Oklahoma Gas & Electric.

According to SEC filings, Core Scientific will be acquiring 40 acres of land adjacent to its existing Muskogee facility, along with an on-site substation and electrical service agreements with Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company for up to 440MW.

The purchase price for the acquisition is approximately $421 million in cash. The transaction is expected to be funded using existing liquidity and close in Q3 2026. The deal will be increased by an additional $40 million in cash in the event that an additional 40MW of firm electric capacity becomes available prior to December 31, 2026.

Core Scientific said the acquisition is expected to meaningfully accelerate its timelines for delivering new capacity for future customers in Muskogee.

Construction has already begun on a second, unleased 82.5MW building, with initial delivery expected in Q4 2027.

The company also has load studies underway to expand its grid-connected capacity, which are expected to be completed this year. The company has also developed a plan utilizing a scalable behind-the-meter solution, and has secured approximately 250 acres of land to support it.

Founded in 2017, Core Scientific began as a cryptomine data center operator, but has now pivoted to AI data center development. The company has facilities across Alabama, Georgia (x2), Kentucky, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and Texas (x3). Last month, the firm outlined plans to add a behind-the-meter solution at its Pecos campus in Texas.

The Muskogee City-County Port Authority first announced a partnership with Core Scientific for a 500MW blockchain & crypto mine data center at the Port of Muskogee John T. Griffin Industrial Park back in April 2022.

Polaris announced plans to develop a cryptomine on a 42-acre site at 4800 S 24th St W in the John T. Griffin Industrial Park in Muskogee in 2024.
