The Chicago Board Option Exchange (Cboe) is continuing to migrate its secondary data center infrastructure to Equinix's CH3 data center in the Elk Grove area of Chicago, Illinois.

An eight-phase effort, the exchange has now said it is moving all the equipment for its Cboe US Common (CCC) disaster recovery data center to the new site, effective as of February 7, 2026.

The latest update comprises hardware and infrastructure for the following Cboe exchanges: BYX Equities, BZX Equities, EDGA Equities, EDGX Equities, BZX Options, Cboe Options, C2 Options, and EDGX Options.

Cboe began its migration effort in August 2025, starting with the EDGA Equities exchange. The BYX Equities and Cboe EDGX Equities exchanges followed suit in September 2025.

As with previous updates, Cboe notes that “Client connections will not move as a part of the migration and will remain in place in CH1,” another Equinix facility.

Cboe is also currently undergoing a hardware refresh of its market data dissemination system, aiming to reduce latency and provide more consistent performance. The refresh will be done by February 2, 2026.

CH3 is located on the outskirts of Chicago, whereas CH1 is in the center of the city.

The exchange’s primary data center is reportedly an Equinix facility in Secaucus, New Jersey. A number of stock and other exchanges are hosted here.

In August 2024, Cboe sold its former HQ in Chicago to real estate firm Prime Group to be turned into a data center. At the time, the exchange said that it hadn’t needed the site since moving its headquarters to the Old Post Office in 2020 and shifting its open-outcry trading floor to the Chicago Board of Trade Building in 2022.
