C2i Semiconductors, an Indian startup focusing on the development of power delivery architecture for large-scale AI data centers, has raised $15 million as part of its Series A funding round.

The round was led by Peak XV Partners and included Yali Deeptech and TDK Ventures. It brings the company’s total funding to $19m.

C2i, short for control, conversion, and intelligence, was founded in 2024 by former power systems engineers from Texas Instruments. The company is developing what it calls a plug-and-play “grid-to-GPU” system designed to streamline how electricity flows from a facility’s electrical bus to AI processors.

The company claims that through the system, it can cut conversion losses, which occur when data centers step down voltage by up to 10 percent, equating to savings of approximately 100kW per megawatt consumed.

“As AI workloads grow, the silent crisis of power efficiency in data centers looms large. At C2i, we are solving this by rethinking power from the grid to the processor core. Our integrated system-level approach aims to reduce energy losses significantly, unlocking billions in savings and extending the longevity of AI infrastructure. This capital will accelerate our global expansion and move us closer to our first silicon tapeouts,” the company said in a statement on LinkedIn.

Based out of Bengaluru, India, the company has around 65 engineers and is currently looking to expand into the US and Taiwanese markets. C2i expects its first two silicon designs to return from fabrication between April and June 2026, after which it plans to begin validation with data center operators and hyperscale customers.

The company was co-founded by Ram Anant, Vikram Gakhar, Preetam Tadeparthy, Dattatreya Suryanarayana, Harsha S. B, and Muthusubramanian N. V.
