Singaporean renewable energy firm Concord Energy has partnered with APAC data center developer Bridge Data Centres to explore renewable and hydrogen solutions to power Bridge’s data center facilities.
The companies signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore potential pathways, including hydrogen power pathway studies, system integration design, energy storage deployment assessments, and optimization of power procurement mechanisms.
The partnership is also expected to include the development of Singapore’s first barge-based hydrogen power generation solution designed specifically for AI infrastructure.
The companies claim that the initiatives will enhance energy reliability, operational flexibility, and long-term sustainability for next-generation data center campuses.
“AI growth demands power solutions that are resilient, scalable, and sustainable. This partnership helps us explore new clean‑energy models for tomorrow’s digital infrastructure,” said Eric Fan, CEO of Bridge DC.
Concord operates a significant portfolio of renewable assets across the APAC region, with approximately 4.78GW of installed capacity, comprised of both wind and solar projects.
Bridge is owned by Bain Capital and is one of the largest operators in the APAC market. Although headquartered in Singapore, most of Bridge’s data centers are in Malaysia – it currently operates two facilities in Cyberjaya, a planned city outside of Kuala Lumpur, with a third in development, and it launched a data center outside Johor in 2022.
