Bitcoin mining company Bitdeer has announced the launch of its newest Sealminer A3 mining rigs, which it claims achieve greater power efficiency and lower noise levels than before.
Bitdeer’s self-developed Sealminer A3s include four distinct models based on two different types of cooling methods - air-cooling and liquid-cooling.
The company states that the new models feature the same low-noise levels of the previous Sealminer machines, while also significantly reducing the power consumption per unit of hashrate.
The flagship model of the new A3 group of machines is the Sealminer A3 Pro Hydro, which achieves a hashrate of 660 TH/s, and a power efficiency of 12.5 J/TH.
Bitdeer lauded its new machines as a leap forward in efficiency when it comes to cryptomining, resulting in lower operational costs for miners, while noting the increased hashrate offers better support for large-scale mining operations.
Headquartered in Singapore, Bitdeer is a cryptocurrency firm with 175,000 Bitcoin mining machines under management.
It has six sites in operation with a combined capacity of 896MW. The sites are located in Texas, Tennessee, and Washington in the US, Molde and Tydal in Norway, and Gedu in Bhutan.
In February, Bitdeer acquired a 101MW gas-fired power project in Canada in a $21.7 million deal for which it aimed to develop a 99MW Bitcoin mining site. In April, the firm acquired 40MW of liquid-cooled Bitcoin mining containers from Saiheat.
The likes of Bitmain and MicroBT also offer their own mining rigs, while Jack Dorsey's Block Inc. recently entered the space with its own mining hardware.
