Update: After around 55 minutes, the website has come back online.

The main website of Amazon Web Services is down, just days after a crippling outage in Northern Virginia.

The cause of the latest issue is not known, but it does not as yet appear to have impacted other AWS services.

AWS down again

"We're sorry! An error occurred when we tried to process your request. Rest assured, we're already working on the problem and expect to resolve it shortly," a message on the main aws.amazon.com website states.

The company's status page shows no errors, but it also did not provide updates throughout most of this week's main outage.

That outage took out everything from Disney+ to Tinder to Amazon's own warehouse logistics network.

Internal reports at the time showed that the company didn't know why the cloud service went down, with a memo warning that the firewall was being "overwhelmed by an unknown source."
