Anthropic is set to go public and has filed its S-1 IPO paperwork.
The generative AI firm revealed several details about its operations in its 335-page filing, including some stats about its growing data center footprint.
Anthropic reported that revenue grew 1,300 percent in the first half of the year, to total $16.3 billion. In the same timeframe, it reported a net loss of $80.7bn - however, it said that $72.4bn of that loss was due to a one-off accounting charge.
In the first half of the year, the company's operating losses shrank to $693 million from $2.1bn for the same period of 2025. It reported $6.2bn in debt.
The majority of its costs came in mounting compute commitments, with the company noting that "expected future fixed or minimum guaranteed commitments under these agreements were approximately $265.6bn with terms ranging from one to 20 years."
Anthropic said that it has "also entered into compute and infrastructure agreements that do not specify a fixed or minimum dollar commitment. Payments under these agreements will depend on the capacity made available and deployed, delivery timing, and pricing, and are not yet determinable."
While it did not detail those costs, it said that "such payments are expected to be significant."
It separately said that it had "entered into new, and amended existing, lease and commercial agreements primarily to secure additional compute and infrastructure capacity, with aggregate future minimum payment obligations of approximately $417bn," as of December 2025.
The company added: "These primarily consist of leases for compute equipment and data centers and purchase commitments with certain cloud providers, commencing between 2026 and 2027 with terms ranging from less than one year to 20 years.
"The Company also expanded certain existing commercial agreements under which it expects to secure additional compute and infrastructure capacity to be delivered between 2028 and 2031. As certain commercial terms have not yet been finalized, the Company estimates aggregate future payments under these agreements to be approximately $125bn to $150bn."
Particular compute deals mentioned include a 20-year lease for a data center yet to be constructed, an agreement to rent compute paid for with up to $42bn in convertible promissory notes, and a $500m power purchase contract in favor of the power counterparty as part of a contract with a data center provider.
In April 2026, the Company deposited $2.5bn into an escrow account in connection with a compute and infrastructure lease agreement.
Anthropic is a known customer of Google, AWS, Microsoft, SpaceXAI, Fluidstack, Nscale, Akamai, Lambda, and others.
Despite compute costs increasing, the company said that revenue per dollar of compute was improving. "For example, our revenue grew 1,368 percent year over year for the three months ended June 30, 2026, compared to our compute and infrastructure expenses that grew 300 percent during the same period."
Anthropic is set to list on the Nasdaq under the symbol ANT.
