Amazon’s Trainium product lead, Gadi Hutt, has left the company, The Information has reported.

It is not known where Hutt is leaving Amazon for, and he did not respond to The Information’s requests for comment, the news outlet said.

Hutt joined Amazon in 2015 after Annapurna Labs, the Israeli chip startup he was working for, was acquired by Amazon for $300 million. His departure follows that of fellow Annapurna Labs alum Rami Sinno, who left Amazon in August 2025 to lead Arm’s chip development efforts.

Earlier this week, Arm launched its own CPU, dubbed Arm AGI, co-developed with Meta.

Trainium is Amazon's custom-designed AI training accelerator, purpose-built for high-performance ML training applications in the cloud. Last month, Amazon signed a $100 billion deal with OpenAI to provide 2GW of Trainium capacity through Amazon Web Services infrastructure.

OpenAI has committed to using both the current Trainium3 chip and the next-generation Trainium4, currently planned for 2027.

AWS has also developed Project Rainier for Anthropic, a cluster of hundreds of thousands of Trainium2 chips located across multiple campuses in the US. Amazon is a major investor in Anthropic.

The company is also partnering with Cerebras to develop a solution that combines Trainium-powered servers with the chip company’s wafer-scale CS-3 systems and Elastic Fabric Adapter networking.
