A 50MW data center could be built in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

‘Project Taurus’ would cover approximately 22 acres at 1565 High Tech Way and it would be developed by data center operator Raeden.

There is an existing 451,217 sq ft (42,000 sqm) building on the land parcel, and Raeden would use that building for a data center, whilst demolishing some smaller existing buildings, including the central power supply, mechanical plant, and the central utility building.

A public meeting about the data center hosted by Raeden is set to take place next week on, Tuesday April 7.

Co-founder and COO of Raeden, Jason Green, told The Gazette that the data center would use closed-loop cooling.

Raeden is a data center developer with projects in Phoenix, Arizona; Indianapolis, Indiana; Detroit, Michigan; Greensboro, North Carolina; and Miami, Florida.

Colorado Springs is located in central Colorado, south of Denver. Most of the state’s data centers are located in and around Denver, whilst a smaller cluster can be found in Colorado Springs.
