This session will look at the application of incorporating a battery storage system as the primary source of backup power into the design of data center facilities. As more data center facilities focus on innovation and sustainability, incorporating clean sources of energy into the data center design model provides an innovative way to reduce data center facilities’ overall impact to local communities and the global environment.

Integration of the battery storage system technology into the design will be discussed and evaluated in comparison to current data center design models and the associated design challenges and schedule drivers. The session will conclude with a dialogue of the resulting impacts that the design solution will provide to the project’s overall design and delivery, as well as the overall benefits the design solution will provide to the environment.
